Abereiddi Bay

Abereiddi is a sand and shingle beach with rocks and rockpools, large car park at the head of the beach. No facilities apart from ice cream van and toilets (?) but best known for its proximity to Blue Lagoon, a few minutes' walk around the headland, and the ruined buildings which are all that's left of a slate mining community. Blue Lagoon is worth a visit, for the striking colour of the water, caused by algae growth in the disused quarry.
