Broad Haven South
Broad Haven South is a large sandy beach, backed with rocky cliffs and sand dunes. Star rock, to the west of the beach, is a prominent feature and can be a sheltered spot to stop when the tide is out. The sea is good for swimming in and is a very popular surfing area.
Behind the beach are 32 hectares of lily ponds, made in the 18th century with dams. The ponds make a pleasant walk through to see a variety of wildlife.
There is a charged National Trust car park just above the cliff to the west of the beach, where there are toilets (open in summer) and steps down to the beach. Alternatively, you can park at Bosherston (charged) and take a 20 minute walk through the lily ponds to the beach. There are no shops in the area, except for a pub and cafe in Bosherston and often an ice cream van in the National Trust's car park (charged) during the summer.
